The Polyneura is also known as the mermaid or fish tail hoya due to the distinct leave patterns. This hoya is easy going, growing  easily in most house hold environments. Under the right conditions this hoya will produce clusters of flowers.

All cuttings will be cut fresh right before being shipped.

They will be carefully packaged and shipped USPS priority.

2" starter plants will be listed as they become available. They will all have at least 2 leaves and some new growth  similar to the plant pictured above.

Please be advised that every plant is a little different in its likes and dislikes, this is partially because all home environments are different. These are all just the general care instructions for these plants and you may have to make slight changes in order to fit your plant and your home.

Rooting a polyneura cutting:

Propagation boxes, which is basically a clear box with a lid filled about 1/3 full with perlite that has been dampened, you never want the perlite to dry completely but you also dont want any standing water at the bottom. Push the cut end of your plant into the perlite close the box, opening every few days to allow air exchange. After a few weeks you should start seeing some roots growing. When the roots reach 1-2" you can pot in your chosen medium.

Water Propagating, this plant usually roots easily with simple water propagtion, all you have to do is place the cut end of your plant into some water and watch for roots, change out the water every 2-3 days and when the plants roots reach 1-2" plant in your chosen medium.

There are other ways to propagate, if you are new to hoya propagation we highly recommend doing some research, but this hoya is a great one to start with due to its ease of rooting.

Light: Bright indirect light is recommended, generally West and/or East facing windows are ideal

Watering: Hoya’s in general need to dry out fairly well before watering, the “rule of thumb” is to stick your finger into the soil and water when the top 1”-2” are dry. Your watering cycle will change based on your homes humidity level and the plants natural growing cycle, during the spring and summer while the plant is actively growing it will need to be watered more often.

Repotting: Hoya’s do not generally need to be repotted, they like to be semi-root bound, if you do choose to repot please wait a few weeks after receiving to allow your plant to acclimate to its new environment, and do not increase the pot size by more then one size.

Humidity: Typical home humidity is usually acceptable, but every home is different. In dry climates you may find that your plant appreciates occasional misting.

Fertilizing: Monthly fertilizing during growing season with a half strength general purpose fertilizer.

If you have any issues with your order please reach out within the first 48 hours with pictures and descriptions of the plant(s). Please note, while we make every effort to package your plants with care it is not unusual to have a few damaged leaves during the shipping process, as these are live plants. Some plants are less tolerant of the stress of shipping than others, and may arrive looking limp, but they should recover quickly with proper care and time to acclimate to your home.
