It all started with a Hoya.

When my kids were young we inherited an ancient Hoya carnosa from my grandmother, a woman who was a huge part of my life growing up. She loved to garden. For me it was a living piece of her that I would be able to pass along to my kids and family members. At that time I had no idea that there were hundreds of different Hoyas. When I found my second Hoya, a withered compactica in a discount bin it started a whole new passion for collecting them.

These plants have a long lifespan and are easy to propagate. They are also one of the only houseplants I've known that survives the occasional neglect that sometimes comes with being a new plant owner. This makes them an ideal heritage plant that can pass through generations. 

 

My love of Hoyas and plants has been passed on to my teenage daughter, she has started her own plant collection. So, with a house overflowing with vines we decided it was time to share these plants with the world.
